Average US Fico Scores

While the average Fico score in the United States is 634, the score between states can vary considerably. Here is the distribution of the Average US Fico Scores by state and age, as of 11/1/2015.

Because the average credit score can be misleading, a better gauge to compare yourself to is the Median Fico Score which currently stands at 723. While the Average Fico Score have been declining slowly in the past few years (because of the increasing number of auto loans, mortgages and credit cards) the Median Fico Score has remained exactly the same for many years in a row.
