FICA Credit Score
FICA credit score was developed by TRW credit reporting agency back in the 80’s together with Fair Isaac, the creator of Fico. TRW has evolved into Experian credit bureau which is one of the 3 major credit bureaus. The other two are Equifax and TransUnion.
The FICA credit score was abandoned along the years in favor of Fico, which now dominates the market with over 90% of creditors using it.
There is still much confusion about the term FICA, and consumers are still looking for their FICA score although it’s no longer in use. Part of the problem is that the term “FICA” continues to exist online. There are two reasons for this:
- Many sites use the term “FICA” instead of “FICO”, mistakenly (or intentionally?). They pretend to provide information on FICA credit score, when in fact that information is about FICO credit score.
- FICA stands for Federal Insurance Contribution Act., which regulates the financial relations between employer and employees and has nothing in common with credit scores. However, many web pages are loaded with the term.
Now that you know the FICA credit score no longer exists, you can continue reading about FICO credit score here: Fico Score Rating.
