Experian, TransUnion & Equifax have set up a combined service (called the Annual Credit Report Request Service) that handles and process all consumers requests for free credit reports under the FACT Act.
Although each of the three major credit bureaus has its own website where it also provides credit reports and scores to consumers, these are not free!
The Annual Credit Report Request Service is the ONLY place that provides really free credit report to consumers. You can submit your request online, over the phone (Toll Free) or by mail. It is regulated by the government, secure and perfectly safe.
You can request a combined report from Experian, Equifax & TransUnion (called 3-in-1 credit report, or you can stager your reports and get a single bureau credit report every 4 months. The choice is yours.
When ordering your credit report online you get instant access to your credit file. You can view, download, print and save it for your convenience.
For your safety, avoid goggling terms like “free credit report” or similar. There are many imposter sites that either try to steal your information or charge you a fee for a service that’s free by law!
