SafeRent (CoreLogic First Advantage SafeRent) is a consumer reporting agency (CRA) that supplies residential and employment screening services to third parties. Specifically, it supplies renter reports, eviction reports and tenant scoring to landlords, property managers and employers.

SafeRent collects information such as late rental payments and evictions from landlords and combines them with information it pulls from the 3 major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian & Trans Union).

Often, when you grant a potential landlord or employer permission to pull your credit report, they turn to SafeRent who does the actual pull in their name. For this reason you may spot a SafeRent Credit Inquiry on your report even thogh you never gave it permission to pull your information.

As per the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) you have a right to receive a free copy of your SafeRent consumer file annually, and dispute any incorrect or incomplete information that’s on it.

Additionally, if your application for an apartment or employment have been declined based on the information provided by SafeRent, you have a right to receive a copy of that information free of charge.
