I have 2 collection accounts on my report that reach the SOL in two months. Does a collection agency have to delete items after the statute of limitations?

SOL has nothing to do with credit reports

It’s a common misconception that bad items fall of your credit report after the statute of limitations,

The truth is that the reporting time frame for negative items is (in most cases) 7 years. Negative items only fall of after the reporting time period has passed, regardless of whether the statute of limitations is shorter or longer.

The statute of limitations only defines a time frame for bringing you to court, and varied between states.

There are many threads here about SOL and credit report. Here are a few:
Removing debt past statute of limitations from credit report
Statute of Limitations effect on Credit Reports
