I want to purchase my first brand new car three month from now. I need some credit fast repair tips because my current credit store (570 from Equifax) is not good enough for a car loan. I a $2,000 loan that I’m paying on time, but I also have $1,500 of unpaid credit cards in collection.

According to my car dealer, I need to push my score to at least 650 to get approved. I have 3 month to do that. What can I do to increase my credit score? Is it even possible in such a short time?

    Thank you.

    Not gonna happen

First, the only quick way to raise fico score is to lower your credit balance to limit ratio below 35%. Other than this – it takes time.

Second, paying of the collection WON’T improve your score. The damage is already done. The collection will remain on your credit report for 7.5 years. The only thing you CAN do by paying off is to change its status from Unpaid to Paid or Settled. It won’t improve your FICO score, but creditor and lenders (including car dealers) do look at your credit report, and a paid collection does look much better than unpaid one (See why-pay-off-debts.html for more information).

As to the score itself – I believe that the Equifax score is a bit different from FICO. In any case, the score you see when you check it online is completely different than what your car dealers see on his system.

Can you afford a new car?

Are you sure that you can afford a new car? Instead, get a nice, reliable used car. By the time you have that paid off – your credit would be much higer.

    Re: Credit fast repair

It would take an act of God to get your score to 650 in 3 months. Even if you could do it – no one will lend you money with the kind of debt and collection you have.
