Check your credit report thoroughly
Next step is to check your credit reports thoroughly. Try to find any errors, especially bad information that is wrong.
If you do find wrong bad information – you must dispute it!
Did you get a 3-in-1 credit report, or is it from just one agency
If it’s only from one of them (Equifax/Experian/Transunion) than it’s not so good because it means that you won’t be able to get another free 3-in-1 this year.
A 3-in-1 is important because all three reports are NOT the same. For Example, you may have errors in your Experian report, but the credit information on the Equifax & Transunion may be correct.
Another thing is that when you apply for a loan or credit, you have no idea from which credit bureau they will pull your credit information. This is why you need to keep ALL three reports accurate.
After dealing with that – you have nothing else to do. If you have bad credit information on your report that’s impacting you, and that information is right, then, well, nothing you can do about it.
With time, assuming you wont accumulate additional bad information, your score will go up slowly each year
Best advice I can give you – ALWAYS pay in time. ALL your debts
In the end, the cost of not paying debs proves to be greater than simply paying them!
Hope this helps.
